NHL 15 is one of one of those games that just looks incredible, which doesn't mean it doesn't come
with some drawbacks, but let's focus on the good stuff first. Graphics are truly astonishing, it's
one of those games that gives you the feeling of watching a game on a TV and not sitting in your room
playing a video game, especially now since you have Mike 'Doc' Emrick and Eddie Olczyk doing real life
pre-game video commentary. Arenas have been upgraded to capture every possible detail, plus you are given
an outstanding view of the city that you are playing in. Pausing a game gives you the option of a instant
replay that you can zoom in and out that just looks amazing. EA Sports put a lot of effort in the little details which
are truly the essence of lifelike behavior of the players, other than players movement on the ice (which is near perfect),
there are little things from chattering of the players to the way players celebrate when scoring a goal, which is where slow motion really shines.
NHL 15 gives you the option of completely customizing the game to such an extent that you can set how often
you want the players to fight, the likelihood of a player breaking his stick, possibilities of injuries
occurring and of course editing players faces. Be A Pro mode is different this time (to most people NOT for the better),
unlike last time where you were drafted by a lower ranked organization and having to work your way trough the ranks
to the pros, now you are immediately drafted a top team and play in the pros, which kinda takes all the fun out of it.
Unfortunately EA also got rid of the EA Sports Hockey League as well as the Online Team Play which is to some, well.... unforgivable. Oh yeah, did we
mention that Season Mode is gone too?! So, now to sum things up; the fact that the game has some drawbacks in online
mode and single player mode, could mean that if you are a die hard fan of its predecessor, you might be somewhat disappointed.
This still doesn't take away from the fact that this really is a good game. It looks amazing and it's really fun to play.
