Ever wonder why baseball is popular? Baseball lacks action and contact, however, it has enough scoring twists to keep its fans happy. Comebacks almost always seem possible in the last inning, which holds their fans' interest. Here's a fun baseball fact: On July 27, 1930 Reds pitcher Ken Ash was brought into a game against the Cubs with two on and no outs. Facing a runner in a scoring position and no outs, he delivered the pitch and the Cubs promptly delivered a triple play. Ash was removed for a pinch-hitter in the bottom of the inning as the Reds rallied for the winning run in a 6-5 win over the Cubs, getting the no-name Ash into the history books as the only man to win a game on only one pitch.
